  “Jason!”

I took another swipe, before tonguing her clit. “You were saying?” I chuckled, reveling in the string of cuss words falling from Fee’s lips.

She tasted so fucking good, I didn’t ever want to come up for air. I licked and teased, circled and sucked. I worked her with my fingers and tongue until she was a breathless mess screaming my name.

“God, Jase,” she rasped, “that was...”

I moved up her body, kissing her deeply. “Just the beginning.”

  Felicity

Time stood still; it always did when Jason kissed me. He wasn’t just highly skilled on the field, he was annoyingly good at everything he did—including sex.

I ran my fingers through his hair as his lips devoured mine. The crackle of the fire, the smoky scent in the air, even the soft fur beneath my body, all helped create this little slice of heaven we’d found ourselves in.

“Fuck, Felicity, I’ve missed this... us.”

“I know exactly what you mean.” Pressing my hand to his cheek, I leaned up, kissing him softly, tracing the shape of his lips with my own.

We’d spent time together since the engagement, but not like this. Not away from the fast pace of everyday life.

Jason eased back to remove his jeans. I marveled at his body, every dip and ridge, his perfect physical condition testament to his dedication to the game.

His body was a work of art, and I was the lucky girl who got to touch.

  The only girl.

I reached for Jason, needing to feel him close, needing his weight pressing me into the rug and his hips pinning me in place.

I needed to feel owned by him—the man I’d one day call my husband.

“I need you,” I whispered the second he kissed me.

“You have me, Fee, always.” He snagged my left hand and brought it to his mouth. “One day, I’m going to stand in front of all our friends and families and declare you mine until death do us part. But until then, know you own me Felicity Giles, heart, body, and soul.”

Jason slammed inside of me, so hard I cried out. My nails raked down his back as he sealed his promise over and over.

“Nothing,” he kissed me, “nothing will ever feel as good as this. As good as you.” He pulled my legs over his hips, changing the angle.

God, I could feel him everywhere.

“Jason...” I panted, feeling my world grow small. “It’s... God...”

“You’re mine,” he growled, licking my throat, biting the skin there. “Mine, Fee.”

  “Always.”

He slowed the pace, rocking into me with torturous restraint, dragging every ounce of pleasure from me as he pushed me toward the precipice of ecstasy.

  “I’m so close,” I cried.

“Come for me, babe, come all over my cock.”

His dirty words sent me flying over the edge. I clenched around him, drowning in intense waves of pleasure.

“Fuck, babe... fuck...” Jason’s body locked up and then he unraveled, jerking inside me. He dropped his brow to mine, brushing his nose down my cheek. “You are amazing.”

  “You aren’t so bad yourself.”

A smirk pulled at the corner of his mouth. “Something tells me I owe Gio big time for this.”

Trailing a finger down his sweaty torso, I laughed softly. “We could’ve locked ourselves away in our apartment.”

“It’s not the same,” he let out a small sigh. “There’s always something. Ash, the team, Coach... our families.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean.”

“Here, it’s like it's just us and nothing else can touch us. It’s nice.”

Jason’s words touched something inside me. People underestimated how hard it was to be the best, to be loved and adored by thousands of football fans. Everything Jason did or said, every game he played, every practice and night out with the team, he was scrutinized.

And I was the girl by his side.

It wasn’t always easy being in love with an athlete, taking a back seat to the devotion and dedication to their chosen sport. But Jason had proved to me time and time again that I was his priority.

Now I had the ring to prove it.

  “I love you,” I whispered.

And his response was the same as always.

“Not nearly as much as I love you.”

  Jason

After cleaning up, we raided the refrigerator and cooked spaghetti. Side by side, we worked together to slice the onions and peppers and dice the garlic. Nicco wasn’t lying when he said they’d stocked up. There was everything we could need for at least three or four days. Including some whipped cream and chocolate sauce that I had big plans for later. It was probably meant for the tiramisu, but I knew it would taste better licked off Felicity’s body.

“Hey, look at this,” she said. She was rooting around in one of the drawers, looking for a pasta ladle.

“What is it?” I wiped my hand on a towel and joined her.

“An old photo, look. I think that’s Nicco’s great grandad and maybe his uncles.”

It was a grainy black and white print, but the resemblance was obvious.

“Check out the Fedoras and suspenders.” Holding my arm around Fee’s waist, I pulled her back into my chest.

“They look like something out of a nineteen twenties mob film.”

“Yeah, right,” I chuckled, but something prickled up my spine.

  No, they couldn’t be.

Gio would have said something... he would—

  Nah.

Nicco wasn’t a mobster. The guy was too gracious and clearly loved up, if the way he gazed at Arianne was anything to go by.

“I don’t know, they seemed kind of cagey.”

“Who? Nicco and Matteo?” I brushed it off. “They were friendly enough.”

  “So, you don’t think—”

“No, I don’t.” I pulled the photo from her fingers and shoved it back in the drawer. Felicity glanced up at me and I captured her lips in a bruising kiss.

“Dinner, we have to eat before we—”

I kissed her deeper, turning her into me. Without warning, I picked Felicity up and sat her on the counter, fitting myself between her legs.

  “Jason, the sauce...”

  “Can wait.”

  “You’re insatiable.”

“Never claimed to be anything else.” My fingers went to the hem of the oversized shirt she’d pulled on after we’d taken a shower.

“But we just got cleaned up.”

“And now I really, really want to dirty you up again.” My fingers walked up the flat of her stomach and she sucked in a shaky breath.

“You’re supposed to be feeding me.” Felicity pouted.

“I’ll feed you, I promise, once I’ve made you come all over my tongue.” I pressed her back against the counter, laying her out before me. My heart pounded in my chest at the sight of her.

“Okay.” It was breathless sigh. “But be quick. I don’t want the spaghetti to burn.”

Smirking against her thigh, I murmured, “Challenge accepted.”

  Felicity

I woke first. Jason looked so peaceful, I didn’t want to wake him. So I slipped out of bed, pulled on a big, chunky knit cardigan over my nightshirt, and went to make coffee. When it was ready, I nestled myself in one of the chairs near the window and watched the snow fall.

It was coming down fast, but everything looked so beautiful covered in white. The color of innocence and purity. It made me smile, imagining myself draped in white lace, standing under a snow-capped archway, saying my vows to a man who owned me in every possible way.

God, I loved Jason so much.

I wanted a life with him, a future. I wanted the big wedding and the white picket fence and a bunch of dark-haired, green-eyed babies running around.

  I wanted it all.

A little sigh of contentment slipped from my lips, but it turned into something more when Jason cupped the back of my nec
k and tilted my head up to meet his. “Good morning,” he rasped, his voice still thick with sleep.

  “Good morning.”

“How long have you been awake?”

“A little while. You were out for the count.”

“You should have woken me,” he breathed the words against my lips.

“It’s okay, I was enjoying the view.”

“I’m enjoying the view.” His eyes went to where my nightshirt had fallen open.

  “Pig.” I smacked his chest.

“Temptress.” He kissed me again, making my body stir to life.

God, would I ever get enough of him?

  “Is there coffee?”

“Yeah, I just made a fresh pot.” I watched Jason stalk over to the coffee machine. He was shirtless despite the cold air, but I wasn’t complaining.

“I can feel your eyes on me, Giles.”

  “Fiancée perks,” I teased.

He glanced back at me and winked. “Indeed.” When he’d poured himself a coffee, he leaned against the counter and said, “What do you want to do today?”

“You mean apart from get naked and spend the day in front of the fire?” My brow arched.

“I didn’t know if you’d want to explore? I saw a sled out back when Nicco showed me where the generator was.”

  “A sled?”

  “Yeah, it could be fun.”

“Are you going to pull me around like I’m the snow queen?”

He chuckled. “What will I get in return?”

“What do you want in return?”

Hunger flared in Jason’s eyes as he raked his gaze over me. He stalked toward me, pulling me from the chair and lifting me up his body. Soft laughter spilled from my lips as I wound my legs around his waist.

“We need to shower,” I protested.

“I’m going to dirty you up first, then we can shower.”

My brow quirked. “Maybe you should dirty me up in the shower.”

A slow grin spread over his face. “It’s like you can read my mind.”

  “What about sledding?”

He nuzzled my neck, sucking the skin there gently. “It can wait.”

  Jason

Almost two hours later, we resurfaced. I couldn’t get enough of Felicity. Her body, her soft curves, and her musical laughter. She was my addiction and after every high ended, I was desperate for another hit.

“Are you ready?” I called, pulling on my hat. It was freezing out, so we’d packed layers.

For as much as I wanted to stay in bed and discover all the ways I could make her cry my name, I also wanted us to have fun. Some good old-fashioned fun in the snow.

“Ready.” She flounced into the living room. “Hmm, you look good in a hat.”

  “Babe, I always look good.”

Felicity rolled her eyes, pulling on her thermal gloves. “Are we doing this, or what?”

  “Oh, it’s on.”

Her smile grew and, hand in hand, we left the cabin.

“It’s really coming down,” I said, straining my eyes against the flurry. The wind whipped the snow around us, and I glanced back at the cabin. It was beginning to bank up against the porch. “I’ll clear that off later.”

“We’ll be okay, right?” Felicity frowned.

“Yeah, the weather forecast said it’s clearing into tomorrow.” Hooking my arm around her waist, I pulled her back into my chest. “But would it really be so awful to be stranded here with me?”

“No.” She smiled up at me. “But I don’t want to miss New Year.”

  Shit. New Years.

  “We’ll make it, I promise.”

“So where’s this sled you speak of, because honestly, I’m tired just thinking about trying to find our way through that.” Felicity tipped her head to the woods before us.

“Stay right here.” I kissed her head before jogging around the side of the cabin and retrieving the sled. It was one of those proper wooden ones with metal plated runners and a curved back rest.

Felicity clapped her hands the second I came into view. “Now we’re talking.”

“Just go steady, we don’t want no accidents.”

“Jason,” she huffed indignantly, “I am quite capable of getting onto—” Her foot slipped and she went backwards, landing on her ass with an oomph.

“You were saying?” I bit back a laugh, offering her my hand.

“It’s very slippy.” She huffed, slipping again.

“Here, let me.” I scooped her up in my arms and gently lowered her to the sled. “Better?”

“Just when I think I can’t love you anymore...” She rolled her eyes dramatically.

I grabbed the rope and tested the pull. The sled glided over the snow with ease.

“I could get used to this,” Felicity called.

“Oh, really?” I arched a brow over my shoulder, smirking. “You’d better hold on then.”

  “Jason, no—”

  Too late.

I took off running, pulling the sled behind me. Felicity’s shrieks filled the air, but they had nothing on the rumble of my laughter.

  Felicity

We spent all morning in the snow. I was cold and my boots and socks were damp, but I hadn’t smiled so much in a long time. There was something about the snow that made you revert to being a kid.

We’d had snowball fights and made snow angels. Jason had pulled me through the woods, shaking the snowcapped trees over me as we went. We’d even made a snowman, complete with twig arms and stone eyes. By the time we finally made our way back to the cabin, my ribs ached from all the laughter.

“That was fun, we should do it again tomorrow,” I said, trudging up the steps to the cabin. The snow was still coming thick and fast, but the wind had dropped a little.

“You go inside and get warm,” Jason suggested, “and I’ll clear the porch.”

“I’ll make some hot cocoa and see what there is for lunch.”

“Sounds good.” He kissed me before taking off in search of a snow shovel.

I pulled off my coat and hung it up before toeing off my boats and leaving them by the fire.

I was halfway through making us both a sandwich when Jason reappeared.

“Hello, snowman,” I chuckled at the sight of him, snow clinging to his lashes and hair.

  “It’s coming down harder.”

“Good job my plans for this afternoon included staying in then.”

He shucked out of his coat and joined me at the breakfast counter. “And what exactly do your plans include?”

“I found some old board games.” I smirked. “I thought I could whip your ass at Battleships.”

“You want to play board games?” His eyes narrowed.

“What’s wrong with playing board games?”

“Is there a pack of playing cards?”

“Playing cards?” My brow arched as I slid his cup of hot cocoa across the counter.

He smirked. “The only game I want to play, is one that ends up with you naked and underneath me.”

“And we need playing cards for that?” My lips twitched.

Jason took a bite of his sandwich and grinned. “We do if we want to play Strip Poker.”

  Jason

Felicity’s laughter was like music to my fucking ears. My arm shot out, pulling her toward me. I gripped her jaw and lowered my face to kiss her. “One day, I’m going to put a baby inside you.” The words spilled out with warning, and I froze.

Had I really just fucking said that?

Felicity’s brows furrowed. “Did you just say what I think you said?”

  “I... uh...”

She chuckled again. “We’ve never talked about kids before.”

“No, I guess we haven’t.” I ran a hand over my jaw. “But you want them, right?” Because now I’d said the words, all I could picture was a little kid with Felicity’s big eyes and her big heart.

“Yeah, I mean... when we’re older. Much older.”

It was my turn to chuckle.
“I love you, Felicity Giles. I love you so fucking much, I can’t wait to make a life with you.”

Her cheeks pinked under my intense regard. “What has gotten into you?” She batted my chest.

“What, a guy can’t be happy?”

I’d never imagined myself wanting to settle down. Hell, I’d never imagined myself wifed up and playing house with a girl. But Felicity made me want things.

  Scary as fuck things.

Going pro was still the dream, it always would be. Now that I’d won the Heisman Trophy, I had my sights set on the NFL draft. But lately—especially since putting a ring on her finger—I was thinking beyond that.

She narrowed her gaze. “Hmm, you seem, I don’t know... different.”

“It’s you,” I said with complete conviction. “It’s all you.”

  Felicity

“Do you think we’ll always be friends?” I asked Jason as he stroked my hair.

After lunch, and Jason’s surprising confession, we’d climbed back into bed and spent the rest of the day there, tangled up in each other. We hadn’t done this in forever. Life was always so busy with classes and my volunteering work, and with Jason practicing with the team. It was the perfect end to the year.

“Babe, you’re wearing my ring, I should fucking hope so.”

“Not us, silly. I mean with Cam and Hailee, and Asher and Mya.”

“What kind of dumb question is that?” He grunted. “Of course we’ll always be friends. We’ll have kids and they’ll have kids and they’ll all grow up together.”

“What if football takes us across country?”

“Then we come home after I’m done.” He shrugged.

“You sound so sure of everything.”

“Because I am, babe.” Jason kissed my head, brushing his foot alongside mine. “Our life is going to be amazing, you’ll see.”

“I hope so.” I couldn’t imagine not having Hailee and Mya in my life. They were my ride or die friends, the way Cam and Asher were Jason’s. The fact we all got on and were friends was an added bonus.
